After wrapping up two weeks of learning about landforms, weathering, and erosion, 2nd Grade DLI classes crumbled into the world of weathering and erosion—with COOKIE SCIENCE!
We used water, wind (aka our own mighty breaths!), and popsicle sticks to break down cookies just like rocks do in nature. 🍪 It was a deliciously messy way to wrap up --- because what’s better than learning and snacking at the same time?
Edible science for the win!🤪

LCSC is hiring for the 2025-26 school year! If you are interested in an elementary teaching position, please apply at https://lburg.schoolspring.com/

Preschoolers in Mrs. Sturgeon's and Miss Avery's class have been working hard on developing and strengthening their fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination in a variety of ways this year! Play-doh, cutting and gluing crafts, tweezers, and sticker dots are just some of the fun activities they've recently enjoyed to practice and build these important skills.

First grade students in Miss Ruehlmann's class have been learning about how important it is to take care of the Earth. They’ve learned ways we protect the planet by reducing, reusing, and recycling. Students ended Earth Week by creating an Earth craft!

Stefanie from the Dearborn County Recycling Center visited LPS to teach our first grade students all about worm composting! The kids got up close with red wigglers and learned how these tiny creatures turn food scraps into nutrient-rich compost. It's hands-on science and sustainability at its best—thank you, DCRC, for helping us grow green minds! Happy Earth Day! 🌎 🪱💚

Learning is sweet in Miss Bagshaw's 2nd grade class! 🌈📊 Our students dove into the world of data representation today, using their very own jelly beans to create bar graphs, pictographs, and tally charts. What a fun and hands-on way to understand different ways to display information! Great job, everyone!
