Central Elementary School has been a fixture in Lawrenceburg for many years. It housed over 700 students in grades Kindergarten - Fifth Grade at its peak. It had undergone several facelifts prior to a major renovation in 2003-2004.

When Lawrenceburg Primary opened in November of 2003, the Kindergarten, first and second grade students and staff moved out of Central Elementary. A major construction project was begun at that time and finished by the beginning of December of 2004. The staff and students of grades three, four and five endured a great deal of moving and construction, but the newly remodeled building is a state of the art facility.

Here are just a few of the upgrades to the facility. Each classroom is wired for LAN, phone and audio visual. Announcements are done each day from the media center, and broadcasted over the televisions as the "Central Morning News". The front office area is user friendly and brightly painted. The hallways are carpeted which cuts down a great deal on the foot noise in the hallway. New set of boys and girls restrooms are accessible from Art, Music and Physical Education. New sound systems were installed in the gym, cafeteria and in the hallways and classrooms.

Central Elementary School now has 430 students in third, fourth and fifth grade. Teaching assistant(s) are utilized per grade level and are spread over the classrooms at each grade level. Additionally, we have four additional classrooms for our special education students and our accelerated learning students. A counselor, school nurse, and a speech and language pathologist are shared with Lawrenceburg Primary School. Students have Art, Music and Physical Education two times per week. Additionally, we have two computer labs for student use, plus each classroom has multiple computers for student use.
