New School Nutrition Software System - Lunchbox (Aug., 2009)

Lawrenceburg Community School Corporation would like to announce a new initiative to improve the management of student cafeteria accounts.  The corporation has instituted a school nutrition software system, Lunchbox, which will allow parents to make deposits of cash or money orders only into individual student accounts and/or request the buying history of their child's account.  This system has capabilities which we will use to help manage each student's school cafeteria account and produce daily, monthly, and yearly reports electronically. The goal is to create a cashless system for more efficiency in service and accounting records. Students are assigned an ID number that they enter at the point of sale (POS) or cash register, which tracks their buying history.

If parents place money into their child's account in advance, they have the peace of mind knowing that their child's breakfast or lunch has been paid and reduce the risk of money being lost or stolen. When charges accumulate on student accounts, parents will be notified via a letter, but parents are encouraged to place money in their child's account weekly, monthly, or yearly to avoid charges.

School Messenger Notification System (Feb., 2009)

Lawrenceburg Community School Corporation would like to announce a new initiative to improve communications with the parents of our students starting February 10, 2009.  The corporation is instituting a software system which will allow for the corporation to reach the parents of our students  with an automated telephone call to their home phone.  This system has capabilities which we will use to help keep parents informed, as well as involved.

One aspect of the system  will be used to notify parents in case of school closings and delays.  Parents can also be called when students are absent from school.  Another  feature of the system will allow the administration of each school to call parents to notify them of upcoming events, such as parent/teacher conferences. Finally the system can be used to call parents with surveys which will allow the parents to give input.

Any system is only as good as the information that it uses as a basis for actions.  It is important that the schools have current telephone numbers for all parents.  If your home phone number changes, please make sure to let the school know, so we can update our database.

Lawrenceburg Community School Corporation is located in Southeastern Indiana, on the banks of the Ohio River. The county seat of Dearborn County, Lawrenceburg sits twenty five miles down river from Cincinnati, Ohio.
